End of residency talk
To highlight the end of her residency at TOPO, Yesica Duarte had a public meeting Saturday, March 4th at 3pm during which she presented her work and the results of her residency at TOPO.
Her creative research project entitled Pinch to Awaken uses breathing as a means of navigation: breathing as a technology of self-knowledge, body as a didactic resource, virtual reality as a language and stage. The artist discussed the relationships between the body and virtual reality, and how the immersive medium affects perception, self-awareness and learning.
The discussion took place in English in TOPO’s studio on the 6th floor of 5455 de Gaspé, studio #608.
Yesica Duarte
Yesica Duarte is an argentinian media artist, VR developer and art researcher, based between Buenos Aires and Montreal. Her work is focuses on the relationship between the Body and VR, in how the immersive media affect perception, self-awareness and learning. She explore the place that ubiquitous technologies give to the human being as a user, through the research of the immersive language of Virtual Reality (VR) as well as, in the integration of the interface on the human body.
