Hey Doc Lovers!
It’s a pleasure for us to invite you to the final round of the Cuban Hat pitching contest tomorrow, November 19 from 7 to 9 PM, at the Doc Circuit Montreal’s Head Quarters (3450 St. Urbain, Montreal) ! You can come meet the top 5 creators in person, where they will present their projects to an open audience of doc lovers and industry experts. A final round of voting at the end of the presentations will determine the winners of the contest. They will take home the Cuban Hat Award – made up of generous contributions from industry sponsors and private donations – so far we have received over 37K in services and cash, and contributions are coming in until the last minute…!
You can also watch the event live on our streaming at www.cubanhat.tv and vote for your favourite pitch online, from the comfort of your home. Only one vote will be allowed per person during the voting period, November 19, 2013, from 7 to 9 PM.

About the Cuban Hat Project
The Cuban Hat online Pitching Contest is a crowd start-up and funding initiative for documentary projects. This online platform developed in collaboration with Agence TOPO is made possible thanks to the support of the innovative platform and digital network program of Quebec’s provincial arts council, the Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec. The Cuban Hat Project is a non-profit initiative started in 2009 by indie filmmakers Diego Briceño and Giulia Frati with the support of Makila, an artist run and non profit coop aiming to create a community of mutual support to stimulate debate and collaborative decision-making.
