Sortir de l’écran / Spoken Screen
Evening of performances
Jörg Piringer et Alexis O’Hara
February 4, 2016 – 8 PM
La Vitrola, 4602 Saint-Laurent Bld.
On Thursday February 4, 2016 at 8 PM, Agence TOPO presents a new edition of its Sortir de l’écran / Spoken Screen series of media performances at La Vitrola (4602 St-Lawrence Blvd) with Jörg Piringer (Austria) and Alexis O’Hara (Montréal).
Opening the program, Montreal artist Alexis O’Hara is offering Spoken Noise, a vocal and visual performance involving spoken-word, photography and electronics. Will follow the Austrian Jörg Piringer with his digital interactive visual sound poetry.
darkvoice is an electronic audiovisual text-performance about the role of spoken language in the age of permanent and all-encompassing surveillance. In analogy to historic secret languages like German Rotwelsch or the French argot the performance investigates the construction of an electronic secret language that cannot be understood at all. This language is called darkvoice :
darkvoice is the obfuscation of language. darkvoice is the code-talker that no one understand because his language never existed. darkvoice is the ultimate self-censorship, the undecipherable message. darkvoice is the sound of the new world order, the private language of the net.
