PITCH AND WIN @ CUBAN HAT
The Cuban Hat Pitch is back at DCM for a 5th year in a row! With over 30 000$ in cash prizes and services to be won, it is one of DCM’s biggest events.
The call for projects ends on September 13th, followed by a public online vote and our Jury vote. Five projects will be selected to attend the event during DCM’s 11th edition (November 14-18 2015).
Doc Circuit Montreal invites all Canadian directors and new media creators to submit their work-in-progress documentary projects, whether linear or interactive. Audacious propositions are encouraged and can represent diverse world views and employ all artistic and technological forms available. Mainly, these proposals should be able to interpellate local and international audiences to take position in the big challenges of contemporary society.
There are no restrictions on a project’s topic, genre, duration, format, or medium. Participants will however need to provide a transmedia strategy for either the creation, financing, or distribution of their project. Following an online public vote and a jury evaluation, 5 projects will be selected and invited to participate in the meetings and professional workshops of Doc Circuit Montreal 2015, and to pitch their project in front of a live audience. The pitch winners will receive all prizes collected in the Cuban Hat!
The goal of this initiative is to create a collective support for promising documentary projects, while connecting the creators of the documentary industry with their aspiring audience.
